sum sum summa time

It seems that it’s been a while since our last update. A little bit has happened since then:

In June, Tim turned another year older, we RALKED (that’s walked/ran) the Midnight Sun Run in record time (well, record time for us!), and Faith attended her 10-year high school reunion on the Riverboat Discovery, in Fairbanks. Go Wolfpack!

During the 4th of July weekend, Tim got to go with his dad and check out all the sites in D.C. It was a much needed vacation for both of them.

A couple weeks later, we celebrated the marriage of Daniel Long and Ashley Hale. She was a GORGEOUS bride! We enjoyed the family visits, including a few members of Tim’s family that he hadn’t met until then, and a lovely wedding weekend.

Faith finally finished another summer MBA class, and has a couple of weeks off until school begins again. The other big news is the new addition in our house: We broke down and decided to finally get internet! A Mario Kart gift from Daniel and Sara was the primary catalyst here- thanks guys!!

We had an opening ceremonies party at our house- eating all kinds of treats that those athletic Olympians only dream of. We’re loving watching the Olympics at our house. As a bonus, we get to watch Michael Phelps swim in greenish-yellowish water. So- maybe the TV reception isn’t so great. There are some things that just suck about Alaska sometimes.

Our not-so-summer is coming to a close in Alaska. We’ve had about 45 minutes without rain and clouds since sometime in mid-March. The fireweed is blooming away and the leaves are starting to fall.

Hi Faith!

I'm enjoying your blog. I still want to do one for our building project.

I really enjoyed berry picking -- thanks for your enthusiasm and encouragement regarding our new cabin/property. That meant a lot!

Love,
Kim

I'm sorry your summer has been so lame - you should come visit us - it's very hot and sunny...as we prepare for the hurricane coming our way. :-)

Faith you look great! I'm sorry that the weather hasn't been better in Fairbanks. We're crusing into fall here in Iowa. Looking forward to harvest time, pumpkins, and cooler temperatures. Miss you!
