Weekend update

This weekend, we've been relaxing, and laying low around the house. We carved our pumpkin that we picked last weekend at Eckert's. I finally ordered, and framed the prints our anniversary photo shoot. Glad to not have a bare wall anymore...

Sam, the stem-nosed pumpkin. The toasted seeds were delish!

I finally ordered anniversary pics and framed them. Glad to not have a bare wall anymore...

...and that's our sofa. Those are the pillows.

We love and miss you all. Especially, you, Fred Meyer!

Pick yer own

We're enjoying the fall here in St. Louis. There's lots to do, lots to see, and life is getting more interesting as we're making friends. This past weekend, we went skating, drove out to Eckert's farm, watched a football game with some new friends, and made apple butter--more on that later.

At Eckert's Farm (and country store, and restaurant), you can make memories, pick your own in-season produce, sample wine, cheese, and fresh apple cider, and enjoy a tractor ride to the perfect pickin' spot. You can even make your own scare-a-crow this time of year!

The tractor fella drove us to section of the orchard with the Fuji apples, and we could pick from a number of rows. It was fun to pick our own, and even better to sample one along the way.

Tim- the apple picker.

We got our pumpkin from around this area. Jack-o-lantern pics to follow

THE shot- just for you. This picture was taken RIGHT before two cute gals asked us to take their picture. (I guess somebody doesn't have a long arm!) I took their photo 3 times...don't think any of them turned out, so I handed the camera back to them for their evaluation. As I was handing it back to them, it fell. to the ground. with a thud. Granted, it was the pumpkin patch ground, so it couldn't have been that bad.
Needless to say, I did NOT ask for them to take our picture, and we tried to catch a separate tractor for the ride back. oops. It's always nice to help someone else make a memory. What's the etiquette here? Blank check? Multiple apologies? Hopefully apology accepted. Sorry girls.

October is here!

September was our anniversary, and if you didn't get to look at the pics yet, I put them all here, in one little video. It's not our anniversary song, but certainly a fun favorite.
Enjoy

Happy Anniversary to us!
