Happy Birthday Faith!

Last Friday was my 28th birthday, and it was a special one! I slept in, went out for breakfast, went to work around noon where the girls had gift-wrapped my office! The phone, keyboard, stapler monitor...all wrapped! Flowers and balloons to celebrate the day, and spread the word! After work, I enjoyed dinner at home with Tim, then we went out and saw "Twilight". LOVED it! That's one for the theater. I had no idea a vampire love story would be so enjoyable. It was a good one- def gets the 'tim and faith's 2 thumbs up'. The celebration will continue this weekend when we get out of town for a bit.

"Happy Thanksgiving!"

I can't list all of the reasons I'm thankful today. For as long as I can remember, I have always had plenty to be grateful for. I only wish that I would spend more than Thanksgiving Day reflecting on these things.
Today I've been thinking about some (of the many) things I'm grateful for... my husband and dog; my family and his; our friends, and their families; our health; the food we were able to prepare and share today; making memories; days off work; God's grace and Jesus' love for us. I'm thankful for the countless things I have to be thankful.

Today was an enjoyable, relaxing day. We slept in, cooked a few dishes for the Long family feast, and saw "4 Christmases" (Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon); delightful, predictable, funny, and certainly some scenes we could relate to! Somewhat vulgar (seriously- can it NOT be a bit slapstick with Mr. Vaughn?), and maybe a renter. Save your money for "Marley and Me"- I can hardly wait!

Today was Bethel’s (our church) first-ever “Crossroads” service. It was an opportunity for all 3 of our church services to meet in one place, and invite new people to hear the gospel. Usually, an event like this is reserved for Easter, so it was a nice thing to have in November. Our church has recently redesigned the website, and we love it! We used to have cool things to blog about, before we actually committed ourselves to a blog. We used-to-could write about the house that we were building, the puppy we bought, our wedding, Tim’s new job…ya know- cool stuff. Now, we can talk about the health ailments of our daughter dog, or our part-time 2nd (3rd?) jobs together at Mocha Dan’s (the best local drive-thru espresso in town). Tim’s been a “baristo” there off an on since he was a freshman in high school, and now we hang out there for a few hours on Sundays, placing our bets on what the next customer might order, and having juvenile “tipping competitions”. Today was a particularly slow day.

It is a little bit corny- working together, at a coffee shop...but admittedly, it is kind of fun, we get to hang out, work together, see a lot of regulars, many of them friends, and get all java'd up for the work week ahead.
