Angel Rocks

Our 3-day weekend turned out to be somewhat relaxing after all! (This is very rare in the Long household)
Faith's Maymester class ended (on a great note, with a great grade!) and some down time was in order.
On Monday, we got to do a quick day hike at Angel Rocks before a family BBQ. Faith hasn't been up there in a long time- a high school youth group outing (with lots of griping involved) comes to mind.
We considered bringing Harriett, but certainly would have ended up carrying the 40-pound bag of lazy bones! She much prefers the couch to any sort of exertion.

Summers in Alaska are all about getting OUT and making the most of the warmth and daylight. Hopefully this is the beginning of many fun summer activities. We've got visions of camping, driving, more hiking, walks with Harriett, bonfires and grilling on the deck as often as we can.

One summer activity that Faith can't stop dreaming of is the idea of getting a scooter! We're keeping our eyes out for something like the one below! A 50cc Honda Ruckus - or something like it. I saw gas for $4.01 at Fred Meyer today. This baby gets 90-100 mpg!

If you're looking for a thought-provoking, easy read, try, The Shack. www.theshackbook.com
The book got me thinking, and just might be worth your while...but you don't have to take my word for it...

Movies we relaxed with this weekend: The Great Debaters (Denzel Washington)- rent it!
A Bee Movie- rent this for a simple plot, and some good Jerry Seinfeld laughs
Go see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I'm sorry to say, we waited too long on this one, I wish we would have gone there sooner. It's a good one.
