silence

That's what it's been here.
The year so far, and the last few months in general, were filled with waiting...waiting for news, waiting to "hear back". Just a lot of waiting.
We don't have any pictures to share from all this waiting.
Silence from the absence of news and while they say, "no news is good news".
I am beginning to think not.
Silence, save for the tickticktick of laptop typing while Tim studies.
Silence while we wait for the phone call, the email, the discovery. Just silence.

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

your year-end letter

http://christopherdessi.wordpress.com/2008/12/29/new-years-resolutions-for-the-interactive-advertising-world/

Do you make New Year’s resolutions? We don’t. Instead, we’ll continue our ’08 New Year’s tradition and write our personal year-end letters. In these letters to ourselves, we write what the year was like—politically, physically, emotionally, fiscally, and all sorts of other –“aly’s”. (Just for good measure, I like to include my current weight.) We also include a bit about what to hope for and/or expect in the year to come. Then we put the letter in a place where we'll remember to read it part way through the year. This year, we found them after some fall organizing.

It was really fun to read them and remind ourselves what stood out most to us in ’08, and what WE THOUGHT ’09 would hold. I was pleased to read about some goals I had met by the time I read my letter.

Do it. Sit down, right now, and with an extra Christmas card, and write yourself a note. Do it with a friend and send it to each other in May-ish. I’m starting mine RIGHT NOW. Send me yours if you want; I'll hold on to it, keep it sealed and send it your way when you least expect it!

Happy New Year!

wrappin' it up!

In 2009, we said some tough goodbyes...

...in the first part of the year, Tim accepted a job with DoD in St. Louis, MO. We left our family, our friends, our home, our Alaska...it felt like we left everything. We started the summer with a long drive south to begin our adventure together.

In 2009, we also said some sweet hello's...

Hello St. Louis!!

Life is good and we are blessed as we navigate our third year of marriage, the mid-west, government work, returning to school, wintry mixes, big city stuff, and life in general.

We look forward to what God and 2010 have in store for us! What are you up to?

All our best to you and yours!
