We had a lovely Thanksgiving in Mississippi with Tim’s family. The 11-hour drive went fast and gave us a great chance to talk. We celebrated some family birthdays, enjoyed cooking, eating, crafting, shooting, trampoline jumping, shopping, playing games, and watching movies together. Some of the family from Alaska came down, and it was great to see them and spend time with them after so many months apart! On Saturday, I (faith) took off to Mobile, to meet up with my dear friend, Melissa. We were too busy talking to snap any pics together, but it was so good catch up, if only for a few hours! We have much to be thankful for.
We originally started this blog to share what is going on with us as a couple (and our little dog, too!). The blog became especially important to us after moving south so that we could help keep our friends and family up to date on our adventures. I think our blog posts are usually positive, or at least entertaining. But, things aren’t great and I don’t feel like there is anything positive to say, although thankfully we have nothing bad to share.
We’re just having a rough time. Things are far from terrible, and we’ve definitely seen worse, but this time of year is just hard! The holidays are hard. Being away from family and friends is hard. It’s hard not having a permanent job (Faith’s current position). Living in an apartment building that smells like curry all the time is hard. Conveying sarcasm on the internet is hard... We recognize that there is definitely a positive aspect to all the hard or sad things we're dealing with (we have each other…. we love Christmas…at least I HAVE a job…curry is good, etc.), but the point of this blog is for you to know what’s going on, so we’ll try to do that. Really, we will. You'll get to hear about the good, the bad, and the ugly!
James 1:5 says that God gives us wisdom when we need it. So, we’re asking God for wisdom and we’re asking you for your prayers.
Tim's favorite part of being an uncle... becoming "Uncle Tim, the jungle gym"! He's very talented and can sometimes do this while sleeping.
Cookbook birthday gift. Thanks Nana!
A giant Cup-CAKE for birthday celebrations all around!
